Former VC of SV varsity passes away

Guntur, Jan. 24: Former UGC vice-chairman and renowned philosopher Kotta Satchidanada Murthy passed away in a private hospital in Guntur on Monday. He was 87. Murthy, a resident of Takkellapadu, Guntur, is survived by four sons. A recipient of Padma Bushan and Vibushan, Murthy won the first B.C. Roy award for philosophy.He had penned more than 50 books in English and Hindi. He was also the Sri Venkateswara University vice-chancellor in Tirupati. His funeral will be held at Takkellapadu on Thursday.
