Fake policemen rob Tanishq store of Rs 15 crore

Chandigarh: At 3 am in a swirl of fog, 20 men arrived at one of Chandigarh's biggest jewellery stores. They were in police uniforms, say the two guards who were on duty at the Tanishq showroom.

The men overpowered the guards and tied them up.

CCTVs show the men entering the shop in the Manimajara area of the city early on Wednesday morning. But the monkey caps they wore make them unidentifiable. They left with Rs 15 crore worth of jewellery.

The security guards were found a couple of hours later by a guard from a neighbouring shop. "We came here and called the police," said shop-owner Anil Goel.
